Last Saturday, November 19, 2022, marked a significant step forward for technology and innovation in Cagayan Valley. Isabela State University (ISU), in partnership with the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) and the City Government of Cauayan, signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) to create the DOST-ISU Smart City (DISC) Technology Business Incubator (TBI). The event took place at the newly constructed ICONIC Building in Brgy. San Fermin, Cauayan City.

The signing ceremony gathered prominent figures in the field of science and technology in the Philippines. Among the attendees were DOST Secretary Dr. Renato V. Solidum Jr., DOST Undersecretary Engr. Sancho A. Mabborang, DOST-2 Regional Director Virginia G. Bilgera, ISU President Dr. Ricmar P. Aquino, and ISU-Cauayan Executive Director Dr. Precila C. Delima. The MOA signing was witnessed by city officials, DOST representatives, ISU stakeholders, LGU Cauayan officials, and other distinguished guests.

The DOST-ISU Smart City Technology Business Incubator (DISC TBI) represents a significant opportunity for the region.
