Cauayan City, Isabela – The Department of Science and Technology (DOST) Region 02, in collaboration with Isabela State University-Cauayan Campus(ISU-CC) and the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Cauayan, came together to prepare for the upcoming International Expo on Smart and Sustainable City, scheduled for February 24, 2023.

The heart of this preparation involved ISU-Cauayan’s central role in the presentation and discussion of project proposals, plans, and the event’s timeline. Their efforts have received commendation from DOST Undersecretary for Regional Operations, Engr. Sancho A. Mabborang, and Regional Director Virginia G. Bilgera for crafting practical and apt plans for this prestigious event.

ISU-CC’s active involvement is instrumental in shaping Cauayan City’s destiny as the first Smarter and Sustainable City under the DOST umbrella. This forward-thinking approach by ISU is beginning to capture the attention of other institutions, who recognize the city’s exemplary competence and efficiency.

The event’s attendees included DOST Provincial Director Lucio Calimag, Atty. Reina Consortia Santos, and LGU Cauayan representatives, but it was ISU’s prominent role that has set the stage for an extraordinary display of innovation and sustainability at the upcoming International Expo. ISU-CC’s leadership and active engagement have made it the cornerstone of Cauayan City’s journey towards smart and sustainable urban development.
