Cagayan De Oro City, Cagayan De Oro – The Business Intelligence Research and Development Center (BIRD-C) team landed at the Atrium, Limketkai Center, Cagayan De Oro City, to showcase and present its Project C-DEWS: Community Dengue Early Warning System at the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) HANDA PILIPINAS: Innovations in Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Exposition, October 4.

Project C-DEWS is an enhanced ovicidal larvicidal (OL) trap utilizing Internet-of-Things (IoT) technology. It enables remote monitoring of Aedes aegypti eggs and the status of IoT-based OL Trap devices on the CDEWS platform. Its features include early detection of potential dengue outbreaks, timely and effective responses to outbreaks, a basis for community sanitation activities, community engagement, and a sustainable and scalable solution.

HANDA PILIPINAS: Innovations in DRRM Exposition is an annual event conducted by DOST. This year, HANDA Pilipinas is being showcased around the country. Its first of three legs, HANDA PILIPINAS Luzon Leg 2023, was held from July 27 to 29 at the World Trade Center, Pasay City. Handa PILIPINAS 2023 is currently conducting its Mindanao Leg Exposition, covering three days of activities from October 4-6, with the theme “Enhancing Resilience and Sustainability for Mindanao.”
