Isabela State University’s Technology Business Incubator, known as the “Business Intelligence Research & Development Center” or BIRD-C, achieved a significant milestone in 2022 by being recognized as one of the recipients of the HIHEIRIT PAMORE (Higher Education Institutions and Industry Relations for Research and Technology Innovations and Technopreneurship Programs) awards. The announcement was made during the celebration of the HIHEIRIT PAMORE KICKOFF event organized by UP Mindanao Growing and Developing Enterprises (UPGRADE) in partnership with UPSCALE Innovation Hub. This prestigious recognition is a testament to BIRD-C’s outstanding efforts in fostering innovation and research in the field of technology business incubation.

The HIHEIRIT PAMORE program, initiated in 2022, seeks to acknowledge and support Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) and Technology Business Incubators (TBIs) that have made notable contributions to research and technology innovation, as well as technopreneurship programs in the Philippines. The program is a joint effort of the Department of Science and Technology’s Philippine Council for Industry, Energy, and Emerging Technology Research and Development (DOST PCIEERD) and key stakeholders in the education and innovation sectors.

The announcement of BIRD-C’s recognition as a recipient of the HIHEIRIT PAMORE award took place during the HIHEIRIT PAMORE KICKOFF event on June 23-24, 2023. The event served as a platform for HEIs, TBIs, and innovation hubs to come together, share best practices, and celebrate the collective journey toward launching incubators that support research with positive societal impacts.

The primary objective of the HIHEIRIT PAMORE KICKOFF event was to convene future Technology Business Incubator Management teams, partners, training providers, and stakeholders who play a crucial role in supporting these programs. The event underscored the commitment of HEIs and TBIs to facilitate research, innovation, and entrepreneurship as a means to create positive impacts on the community. Specifically, these efforts are aimed at addressing employment, poverty alleviation, and the overall economic development of the Philippines.

BIRD-C, within Isabela State University, has been a shining example of an incubator that successfully promotes research and technology-driven entrepreneurship, contributing to the advancement of not only the local community but also the nation as a whole. The HIHEIRIT PAMORE recognition reaffirms BIRD-C’s commitment to nurturing innovative startups and research projects that can significantly benefit society and the economy.

The award signifies a promising future for BIRD-C and its endeavors to continue fostering technology and business innovation. It also highlights the vital role that HEIs and TBIs play in driving economic growth and addressing social challenges in the Philippines. The success of BIRD-C stands as an inspiration to other institutions and incubators looking to make a lasting impact through research and entrepreneurship.

As the Philippines continues its journey toward becoming a hub for technological innovation and entrepreneurial growth, the contributions of organizations like BIRD-C will be instrumental in shaping a brighter future for the nation. The HIHEIRIT PAMORE recognition is a well-deserved accolade, celebrating the dedication and hard work put forth by Isabela State University and its Business Intelligence Research & Development Center.
